Teaching

My teaching is focused on Media Anthropology,  Science and Technology Studies (STS), Ethnography and Archival Methods, and Design Ethnography of Human-Computer Interaction (HCI). Some of the courses I have designed and taught include:

  • Big Data and Algorithmic Culture (third year module, BA Media and Communication, University of Winchester)
  • Climate Crisis and the Media (third year module, BA Media and Communication, University of Winchester)
  • Film and Television Culture in the Age of the Algorithm (Institute of Continuing Education, University of Cambridge)

At the University of Cambridge I taught on the Anthropology of Digital, Auditory and Visual Worlds (Part IIA and Part IIB Social Anthropology/ Human, Social and Political Sciences Tripos MPhil in Social Anthropology)

I also regularly run workshops on digital security for ethnographic research, exploring the ethical, security and legal implications arising from social scientists’ growing usage of cloud devices and apps in fieldwork (WhatsApp; Skype; Zoom; Teams, etc.)
